Our Story

In April 2019, Britton Latham, a student pastor in Huntsville, met Allen Tate, the Executive Director of The Well Network—a movement of multiplying disciple-making churches in Southeastern university cities. Over coffee, Allen invited Britton to pray about planting the third church in the network.

As Britton and his wife Jessica prayed, God stirred their hearts for a city they knew well—Tuscaloosa, their hometown. Though they never expected to return, God made it clear He was calling them back.

In January 2020, a Launch Team began gathering to pray and prepare. Even through the pandemic, the vision pressed forward with community and discipleship groups. In January 2021, Church at the Oaks officially launched to reach those far from God in Tuscaloosa!
